According to Phoenix Police, forty-seven-year-old (47) Angel Hernandez-Sotelo was killed after being struck by two vehicles while riding his bicycle in Phoenix. Phoenix Police Sergeant Steve Martos said officers were called to the scene at 7th Street and Roesser around 9:00 p.m. where they found Mr. Hernandez-Sotelo suffering from severe trauma to his lower body. According to witnesses, Mr. Hernandez-Sotelo was crossing the street when he was hit by a Ford Taurus heading northbound on 7th Street. Witnesses said the driver parked his vehicle at a nearby liquor store and ran away. Police recovered video from the scene showing the Taurus with a broken windshield. Police also discovered that the Taurus is a rental car, but they have not located the driver of the vehicle. Police do not yet have information about the second vehicle and are requesting that anyone with information about the accident contact Silent Witness. Mr. Hernandez-Sotelo died at the scene.
