PROPECIA & PROSCAR LINKED TO ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION
Recent studies suggest that Propecia and Proscar may be linked to erectile dysfunction.Propecia and Proscar, medications manufactured by Merck & Co. are brand names for finasteride, a synthetic antiandrogen that prevents enzymes from converting testosterone to dihyudrotestosterone (DHT). There is believed to be a correlation between high levels of DHT and baldness and enlargement of the prostate. Proscar is prescribed to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and Propecia male patterned baldness.
Both medications have been associated with sexual and erectile dysfunction which persists after the medication has stopped. Oracle Law Group is currently investigating Propecia and Proscar claims against the drug manufacturer, Merck & Co. These side effects were believed to be temporary and would cease after the medications stopped. Instead, new studies suggest that these serious side effects can continue for months or years after the medication is stopped.
