Car Accident Near Flagstaff Kills Two

Nineteen-year-old (19) Travis Heigel and eighteen-year-old (18) Alexandra Swanson were killed in a one-vehicle collision Tuesday evening outside of Flagstaff on the Interstate Seventeen.   At approximately 8:45 p.m., the vehicle Mr. Heigel was driving veered into the median, rolled several times and trapped Mr. Heigel and Ms. Swanson.  Arizona Department of Public Safety Spokesman Bart Graves said Mr. Heigel died at the scene, and Ms. Swanson was later pronounced dead at Flagstaff Medical Center.   Mr. Graves said both passengers were wearing their seatbelts and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.  Travis Heigel’s father, Mark Heigel said his son was a “caring, sensitive young man.” Mark Heigel said “He touched so many people in his life. If he was smiling, you couldn’t help but smile also.”
