Police Search for Gunman in Fatal Shooting

On Friday morning around 1:45 a.m., twenty-one-year-old (21) Steven Carrillo was shot to death outside a bar in South Phoenix.  The shooting occurred on the corner of Seventh Avenue and Dobbins Road in the parking lot of the Silver Pony Bar.  According to police reports, a fight broke out among several men during which Mr. Carrillo was shot and a twenty-seven-year-old (27) man, whose name has not been released, was beaten.  Mr. Carrillo later died from his injuries.  The twenty-seven-year-old (27) man was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Witnesses described the shooter as a 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches bald heavyset Hispanic man wearing dark pants and a light-colored T-shirt.  Witnesses believe he fled the scene in a light-colored SUV, possibly a Ford Expedition that may have large 22-inch rims.  Police are asking anyone with information to contact either the Phoenix Police Department Violent Crimes Bureau or Silent Witness.
