Man Killed in Car Accident at Chandler High School

On Wednesday evening, at approximately 10:30 p.m., twenty-eight-year-old (28) Ryne McCarty was killed in an accident after he crashed through a block wall outside of Chandler High School. According to Chandler Police Detective Frank Mendoza, Mr. McCarty was traveling eastbound on Erie Street when he crashed through the west gate of the north parking lot of the School. Mr. McCarty’s vehicle then struck several raised medians, crashed through a metal fence, and plowed through the block wall of a used car lot.  Mr. McCarty was pronounced dead at the scene.  Officer Mendoza said that speed was a key factor in the accident, and that drugs or alcohol may have also been a factor.  Officer Mendoza further said that Chandler High School was open for classes the following day.
