According to Scottsdale Police, two (2) vehicles were involved in a car accident at Carefree Highway and Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale on Thursday afternoon. Although Police are still investigating the accident, police reports indicate that prior to the accident, a silver Pontiac sedan driven by a female was heading westbound on Carefree Highway, and a black Ford SUV occupied by an adult female driver and her juvenile daughter was heading northbound on Scottsdale Road. Scottsdale Police Spokesman Dave Pubin said the driver of the Pontiac was seriously injured and was airlifted to Scottsdale Health Care Osborn Medical Center. The passengers of the SUV, according to Officer Pubin, refused treatment at the scene.
