Police Search for a Flasher in Tempe
According to Tempe Police, in the last six weeks, a man has exposed himself to seven (7) Arizona State University students at apartment or condominium pools near the campus in Tempe. The incidents began March 5th, but the flasher’s most recent strike was last Wednesday when his conduct escalated to groping his victim. Tempe Police Sergeant Steve Carbajal said the flasher, a white male, calls to the victim to get her attention, exposes himself, and then flees on foot with the exception of his most recent attack when he removed his victim’s swimsuit top and groped her. According to Sergeant Carbajal, all of the flashings took place in the afternoon at swimming pools, and the victims have all been ASU students in bathing suits. Sergeant Carbajal said, “Tempe Police and ASU Police have been working together to locate and apprehend this suspect. It is very concerning. Be aware of your surroundings. Avoid isolated areas and gather in groups when possible.” Sergeant Carbajal further said that the flasher is between twenty (20) and thirty (30) years of age, between 5 foot 5 inches and 5 foot 11 inches tall, of medium build, has brown hair, wears glass, is clean shaven, may have dark-colored chest hair, and at times covers his face with an article of clothing. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
