Man Facing Aggravated Assault Charges for Road-Rage

According to the Peoria Police Department, twenty-six-year-old (26) Erik Souther was arrested this week and is expected to face aggravated assault charges in connection with a road-rage incident that left the victim, an elderly man, in an intensive care unit.  The incident occurred at 7:15 p.m. on April 4th when Mr. Souther allegedly jumped out of his vehicle at a traffic stop, pulled the elderly victim out of his car, and began punching and kicking the victim. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Souther called 911 from a payphone at a nearby Circle K.  The victim was then transported to the hospital where it was determined that he was suffering from two (2) brain bleeds.  Peoria Police Department Spokesman Jay Davies said numerous Valley residents recognized Mr. Souther from media releases and contacted the police.  According to Police, Mr. Souther was arrested at a friend’s house and was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail.
