Man Runs Red Light and Flees Scene of Accident Leaving One Dead

The Phoenix Police Department is investigating a man who fled the scene of an accident that killed fifty-four-year-old (54) Sherri Lin May in Phoenix on Sunday. According to witnesses, the driver of a Toyota Corolla was heading north on 16th Street near Indian School Road at a high rate of speed when he ran a red light striking Ms. May’s BMW. The driver of the Corolla then fled the scene of the accident on foot, but witnesses of the accident led responding police officers to the driver’s location. According to Police, the suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment and will be booked in jail upon his release from the hospital. Ms. May was also transported to the hospital after the accident, but she later died during surgery.
