Man Killed While Riding Motor Scooter

According to Mesa Police Spokesman Mike Melendez, an eighty-year-old (80) man died on Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle while riding a three-wheel motorized scooter. Officer Melendez said the accident occurred near Brown Road and Grand Street in Mesa around 9:30 in the morning. The driver of the vehicle was traveling eastbound when the man crossed the street in front of him on his scooter. The eighty-year-old (80) man was pronounced dead at the scene, but the driver of the vehicle was unharmed. Police said the driver of the vehicle was not impaired and was not at fault for the accident.
