According to Mesa Police Spokesman Mike Melendez, two people were injured Friday afternoon when the driver of a car had a seizure and crashed on Southern Avenue and Stapley Drive. The nineteen-year-old (19) passenger of the vehicle told police that she attempted to steer the vehicle from the passenger seat when her boyfriend, the twenty-two-year-old (22) driver of the vehicle, began having a seizure. Officer Melendez said the Pontiac Grand Am veered off the road and rolled into a dirt lot. The driver of the vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to the hospital. The passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
